about

This lawyer told me I couldn't write a pop song. I don't know if I succeeded or not -- but this was my attempt at a straight ahead traditional pop tune with intro -- solo -- I may have even written a bridge? (GASP!) I like this one and regret not originally releasing it with the EP.

lyrics

When when the wind whispers
I just hear the same words
drawn out in echoes
And they
Yeah, they were right
Everything in hindsight comes out from its shadows

And all these dreams it's a shame that it's in black and white
When I wake I find my vision's drained of color.
A face, an embrace, and acres of sand surround the place
But when I wake it's just my covers.

Promises mouthed by me in darkness
Like a water ripple fortress
Will collapse

And the world
Feels like a heart that's beating
Cycles all repeating
Like it's in love

And I just can't take the time's beatings
I can't stand you leaving
But you're already gone

And all these dreams it's a shame that it's in black and white
When I wake I find my vision's drained of color.
A face, an embrace, and acres of sand surround the place
But when I wake it's just my covers.

So I sleep
Yeah, I sleep right through the sunrise
And dream myself an island where we're not wrong

So I sleep
I sleep right through the sunrise
And a dream myself an island where we're not wrong
