Miss S's first name followed me... for months I saw and heard it everywhere. When a band busted out a Leadbelly inspired version of the blues classic that shares her name -- it was the last straw. While recording I took a break and listen to Caetano only to discover he had a song about her name too. I let it close the song while I whined and bit my tongue.
lyrics
Your name shakes me
Your name breaks me
Your name takes me
Without warning
Until it's this song
Just like that song
First I write one
And then forty
And there you go cheering me on. You know how heartache helps me get along. There you go cheering me on. You know how heartache helps me get along. I don't know which one is worse -- your spell or your curse. They both hurt, they both hurt, they both hurt.
I know people
That know people
That know people
That you know now
Oh to think how
They might not know
How we fit then
How I fell in
And there you go cheering me on. You know how heartache helps me get along. There you go cheering me on. You know how heartache helps me get along. I don't know which one is worse -- your spell or your curse. They both hurt, they both hurt, they both hurt.
My relationship with The End
Is a case where our friendship never ends
The love of your gentle face
Is a space I'll
Fill
With
Chocolate
Yeah, I'm meeting people
But I forget their names
Yeah, I go to parties
And forget why I came
Yeah, nobody else's name is the same
as the strain that I feel if I dare say your name
Oh Irene
Oh Irene
Oh Irene
Oh Irene
Oh Irene
Oh Irene
Oh Irene
Oh Irene
Oh Irene
And there you go cheering me on. You know how heartache helps me get along. There you go cheering me on. You know how heartache helps me get along. I don't know which one is worse -- your spell or your curse. They both hurt, they both hurt, they both hurt.
